Description

The Government of Manitoba, as represented by the Minister of Conservation and Climate (“Manitoba”), requests Proposals from qualified Proponents meeting the requirements contained in this Request for Proposals (RFP) to establish:

A helicopter operation in a new suitable location for firefighting services, with room for expansion in the Northern Wildfire region.
Currently, the Department of Conservation and Climate operates a helicopter initial attack (IA) base at Paint Lake Provincial Park. The IA base has no room for further expansion, as it is located within a shared parks maintenance.
The building infrastructures associated with the fire base are beyond the life expectancy. Logistical issues, including noise and traffic and proximity to infrastructure have also been identified with being located in a built up area within the Provincial Park.

The term of the Agreement shall be in effect from the signing of the Agreement and will expire on March 7, 2022.
